We are closing in on the first day of spring! The spring equinox is on March 20th but, we have already noticed the sun staying with us a little longer each day. This is pampering to the max! Our vision for the candle light dinner is to prepare our guests an amazing, delicious, four course dinner served in a setting unique to Starlight Canyon Bed & Breakfast. If the weather is nice, we love to set up a table for two out on our gazebo. Our trees are wrapped with lights and lawn just glows. You really feel like you’re in a fairy tale. If it’s cool or if our guests would rather eat indoors we set up and intimate table in our historic main lodge. Our lodge was built in 1933 by the Civilian Conservation Corp. The spot where Starlight Canyon is located was originally going to be a Texas State Park, and they used locally sourced stone to build the walls. Inside, the large wood trusses are a signature of the style used in parks built during this time. For our table in the lodge we light a fire in our fireplace and guests enjoy an atmosphere totally unique to Starlight Canyon and unique to Texas. For the menu, we offer three choices for the main course and we change it up from time to time. One thing you can count on is the mouthwatering, grilled rib-eye chef Nate prepares. Many of the guests that have enjoyed this steak say it is one of the best steaks they have ever had. Christmas is Coming!

It amazes us how the holidays seem to sneak up earlier and earlier every year. We really took notice about mid-September with boxes toward the top shelves, all with Christmas in them. It may be hard to look at, but now is the time to plan for a holiday gathering. The holidays are a special time for us. We get so much joy and satisfaction from hosting groups to come celebrate Christmas together in our beautiful branch of the Palo Duro Canyon. Starlight Canyon has facilitated many holiday parties, and we want to have your group celebrate another year with us. We can’t imagine a more beautiful place for your Christmas party. The wonders of nature and the natural beauty of the canyon is beyond compare. You will also find our place is decorated and lit up so much that even the Scroogeiest Grinch or Grinchiest Scrooge will be compelled to holiday cheer, hooray! In our reception hall we can accommodate a group of 80 very comfortably in the glow of our 15 foot Christmas tree. It’s the end of November, the Texas panhandle and the Starlight Canyon family have had our first snow! The trees and canyon look so beautiful covered with the white blanket. We feel like we are in a winter wonderland.

We at Historic Starlight Canyon Bed and Breakfast, Wedding and Event Venue are so excited to officially announce we are under new ownership.

Liz and Nate Green along with Deborah and David Tinsley have been working hard all summer to continue offering wonderful getaways and amazing weddings the people of Amarillo and the surrounding area have been used to. Weekend stays with our hot home cooked breakfast and peaceful setting are becoming extremely popular.

We are a family run operation and we invite everyone out to our home to enjoy what we have to offer. This blog post marks the launch of our brand new web site. We are so excited about the direction we are heading with Historic Starlight Canyon and following this post will be others announcing more changes, improvements, and specials.
