Pass through the gate and the Panhandle stops behind you. The wind drops. The horizon, flat for a hundred miles, folds down into rock and shade.
Starlight Canyon is a historic bed and breakfast and wedding venue set on six acres in upper Palo Duro Canyon, eleven miles south of Amarillo, Texas. Four private cabins each with their own hot tub sit beneath elms nearly a century old, against the colored walls of the canyon. The main lodge was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1933.
Canyon & Amarillo Cabins
Four cabins, each different, each with a private hot tub on a private patio. The Aspen has a wood-burning fireplace and an aspen log bed. The Cottonwood has a full kitchen. The Mesquite looks out over the main lawn. The Piñon is the only room inside the 1933 stone lodge, and its hot tub is covered.
Every stay includes breakfast. Rates are $199 a night Sunday through Thursday and $255 Friday and Saturday.
